and here it is ... the board that was chosen as a finalist out of 5,000 entries worldwide.  very proud.  this haiku is a nod to Basho's famous poem. i wish i could see it insitu - if you are in WashingtonDC maybe you can send me a photo of it in place. ?

an email arrived - thrilled to be a finalist.  i dont know which one of the haiku i sent in was chosen.  look forward to seeing - their website  currently shows 2025 finalists and updates mid march. Hello from the Golden Triangle neighborhood of Washington, DC.   On behalf of the Golden Triangle Business Improvement District in Washington, D.C., I’m writing to let you know that one of you Haiku was selected for display in our neighborhood, beginning in mid-March.   While the judges selected other haiku for this year’s winners, your haiku was chosen to be among the 200+ signs shared around our 172-block area downtown. The judges reviewed nearly 5,000 haiku submissions in this year’s competition. Submissions came from 90 different countries and from all 50 states in the U.S., as well as from the District of Columbia, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico.   Haiku signs will remain on display until May.
